If you’ve been away for a while, like I have, when you return to EVE, you will find the universe has changed, in most ways for the better. But this has also real world implications since resources in EVE have some degree of relationship to real-world economies. The game has been in the news for a variety of reasons, tales of corporate skulduggery, vast empires clashing, pirates destroying beloved space stations, espionage bringing alliances to their knees are all part of this game. There are no assigned roles, just skills you acquire to do what YOU want to do. You can participate in as little of these things or as much as you like. Partially Player vs Environment and partially Player vs Player, EVE is a complex universe where industry, economics, combat, resource management, technology design, pla net resource harvesting and stock market analysis and manipulation are all part of the potential gameplay. Uncover pirate outposts and lucrative resources hidden in the far reaches of the cosmos. Discover wormholes leading to unknown regions of space. Join an alliance and wage epic battles for sovereignty over star systems. And as ever, the Proving Grounds leaderboards will allow you to monitor Capsuleer performance throughout the event.The possibilities are endless in EVE Online: take sides in factional warfare. To take part in this strategic cruiser-focused Abyssal Proving Grounds round, grab some Proving Filaments and head to the Proving Grounds between 23 April and 24 April. Pilots that join this event will be restricted to Meta 5 modules. Additionally, ships entering this 1v1 event are only permitted to have a maximum of one local repair module fitted (either shield or armor). Meanwhile, sensor dampeners, weapon disruptors, shield boost amplifiers, shield rechargers, shield power relays, shield flux coils, and core defence field purgers are banned for this Proving Grounds round. During this Proving Ground clash, the arena environment will contain large numbers of Bonus Nexus objects that will explode and apply weapon and mobility buffs when approached by Capsuleer ships. The event is open to Legion, Tengu, Loki, and – of course – Proteus hulls. Competing Capsuleers will receive 150m ISK for each match where they deal at least 7,000 damage to their opponent.The benefits gained from overheating the following module groups will be doubled: tackle modules, propulsion modules, repair modules, resistance modules, energy warfare modules, turrets, and launchers.To level up the excitement and drama of this round, the following arena effects will be in place throughout the event: With that in mind, the next Abyssal Proving Grounds event will focus on 1v1 action for strategic cruisers, including the revised Proteus. It’s also the perfect chance to get a feel for a newly revamped classic hull.Īs part of the Road to Fanfest updates, the beloved, once mighty Proteus cruiser has been given a boost to its power and capacity, updating its performance to meet the needs of modern pilots. Running for 24 hours from 23 - 24 April, this Proving Grounds clash asks you go head-to-head and flex your combat skills. The Abyssal Proving Grounds are opening once more, and this time 1v1 strategic cruiser combat is the name of the game.
